The Horner HE697RTM701 is a communication module that permits communication with RTU/Modbus networks. This module includes two (2) independent ports. These ports can be configured as either a Modbus master or a slave. The HE697RTM701 can be easily mounted on a single local slot. This module is compatible with Series 90-70 CPUs. This module can be monitored by the 90-70 CPU to have access to data from remote slave RTU’s. The HE697RTM701 channels can be individually employed for direct connection (RS-232), multi-drop (RS422/RS485), radio modem, dial in, and dial out function. The module channels can either transmit or receive analog or discrete data employing standard and specific RTU commands with a maximum data size of 250 bytes that are located in CPU reference data tables.

The HE697RTM701 supports the report-by-exception feature. This module offers in either RS422/RS485 or RS232 mode with a baud rate of 19.2 kilobauds. The HE697RTM701 supports stop, handshaking, parity bits, and 7-bit or 8-bit RTU transfer. This module draws a current of 1 Ampere at a backplane voltage of +5 Volts DC. The HE697RTM701 contains three (3) LED indicators on the faceplate to show the module status and to help the issue troubleshooting. This module can be configured employing PCM Logicmaster devices. The device includes a 25-pin D-sub connector for each port. This Horner module supports RTU/Modbus communication protocol. The HE697RTM701 weighs approximately 450 grams (0.99 pounds) while shipping and operates at zero (0) to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for industrial applications.
