The Horner HE693THM884 is a high-resolution thermocouple input module that has eight channels. These inputs permit the direct connection between the PLC and temperature sensors without the need for external signal processing such as transmitters and transducers. The HE693THM884 analog and digital processing are done inside the module. This module offers a temperature resolution of either 0.1 degrees Celsius or 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit. The HE693THM884 can detect the issue due to the open circuit. The thermocouple input module includes a twenty-five removable terminal block that is employed for the field wiring using a wire with a cross-section area of 0.205 square millimeters (24 AWG). This module supports the integrating A/D conversion type with a conversion time of 5 milliseconds and a scan rate of forty channels per second.

The module inputs support J and K thermocouple type that support an input temperature range from -210 degrees to 760 degrees Celsius (-346 degrees to 1400 degrees Fahrenheit) and from -270 degrees to 1372 degrees Celsius (-454 degrees to 2501.6 degrees Fahrenheit) respectively. This module draws a current of 100 milliamperes at a voltage of +5 volts DC. The HE693THM884 has an input impedance of 20 megaohms.
