Item number HE693THM666 is an isolated thermocouple module, manufactured by Horner APG. Its main purpose is to support thermocouple temperature sensor connection to PC, without needing external signal processing like transducers, transmitters and similar equipment. The module performs all analog and digital thermocouple signal processing. It reports temperature values to the I/O PLC table in increments of 0.5 degrees Celsius (0.5 degrees Fahrenheit) and 0.1 degrees Celsius (0.1 degrees Fahrenheit). The module has six (6) thermocouple channels, and each channel temperature value is reported to six (6) percent AI input registers. The unit is backplane-isolated with a ±1500 volts AC isolation rating. It has a ±250 volts AC isolation channel-to-channel and a 60 hertz notch filter for eliminating noise from power lines.

The unit power consumption is 200 milliamperes when used at 5 volts DC. It supports types J, K, N, T, E, R, S, B, and C thermocouples. It has an A/D conversion time of five (5) milliseconds and an input impedance of 1000M ohms at less than one hundred (100) millivolts. This unit does not support remote cold junction compensation. There are three (3) reference types that are used with the unit: percent I, percent AI, and percent AQ. The six (6) available percent AI registers provide the temperature and the six (6) percent AQ can be configured for alarm set point registers. The last group, the percent I registers, display the alarm situations. The isolated thermocouple module complies with the EMC directive and is CE-marked, meeting the criteria 89/336/EMC, 92/31/EEC, and 93/68/EEC.
