The Horner Electric Advance Products Group HE693THM406 Thermocouple Input Module allows the temperature sensors of the thermocouple to be directly in contact with a PLC without any signal processors, such as transducers, transmitters, and much more. All the thermocouple signal processing of digital and analog signals is performed on the same module. The input range of this thermocouple module depends on the temperature that is supported. The supported ranges include: -210 to +1000 degrees Celsius for Type J, -270 to +1372 degrees Celsius for Type K, 0 to +1768 degrees Celsius for Type R, -270 to +1300 degrees Celsius for Type N, 0 to +1768 degrees Celsius for Type S, and -270 to +400 degrees Celsius for Type T.

This module has a 0.5°C resolution, therefore the I/O of the PLC is reported in fragments of 0.5°C difference. The accuracy is typically +/- 0.5°C in type J. This model for the thermocouple has four (4) input channels and the power consumption is 100 milliamperes at 5 volts DC. The input / output points require a 4%AI [&16%I] with an input impedance being greater than 20 mega-ohms. This module has a maximum safe overload of +/- 35 volts and the common mode range is +/- 12 volts. The integrating analog to digital conversion has a module update rate of 45 channels per second. The operating temperature for this device should remain within a range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The relative humidity for this device should be 5% to 95% non-condensing.
