The high-resolution Strain Gauge Input Module or HE693STG884 allows bridging the load cells or strain gauges to connect directly to a PLC without having to use external signal processing like transmitters, transducers, etc. The analog and digital signal processing are performed on the HE693STG884 module, and the values are written to the series 90-30 %AI input table with a resolution of 16 bits. The input range of HE693STG884 module is +/-25, +/-50 or +/-100 millivolts. It is configurable through Logic master on a channel by channel basis. The resolution provided by the module is approximately 0.8uV, 1.6uV, or 3.2uV, respectively.
The individual channels of the module can be turned off so that the unused channels don’t increase the response time of the module. Another great feature of the High-Resolution Strain Gauge Input Module is to monitor the excitation voltage of the load cell and to compensate for the signal variations. The HE693STG884 module doesn’t supply the excitation voltage output. The module also includes a set point for each of the channels and is set with %AQ and is articulated with %I input. The output allows the ladder logic to initiate the HE693STG884 module to perform functions like CLEAR, TARE, or ZERO, important for weighing applications. When using the standard unit HE693STG884, the TARE and ZERO values of the module are preserved when the unit is turned off. When you use the HE693STG884-25 module, the TARE and ZERO values are reset when the module is powered off.
