The HE693RTD600 is a type of input module which allows the RTD temperature sensors to be connected directly to the PLC module. Thus the need of having extra signal processing devices such as transducers and transmitters can be eliminated, making a control loop less complex and giving more accurate readings. It supports both analog and digital processing by using analog to digital converters and digital to analog converters. Percentage deviation of analog input values changes concerning the temperature values of point by 0.5 degrees Celsius. Each module unit can have 6 channels and it supports Pt90, Pt100, Ni-120, Cu-100, etc. The Pt100 sensor represents that the temperature will be 0 degree Celsius at 100-ohm resistance. The main power source for HE693RTD600 uses 75 milliamperes @5 Volts DC. It has an update time of 50 channels per second.

This HE693RTD600 module is commonly affected by capacity loading and noise. The noise immunity can be enhanced by using a shielded twisted pair extension wiring. If shielded wiring is used then proper earth ground connection should be provided. It has an operating temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity varies from 5 to 95 percent. The presence of Zener diode as fault protection is beneficial to the working of the module and enhances accuracy and resolution. The input impedance is greater than 1000 mega ohm. During installation, wiring should be routed in its own conduit, with shielded and twisted wiring offering the best noise immunity. This module is developed by Horner Electric Corporation and has an approximate weight of 1 lb.
