The VersaMax PNS (PROFINET Scanner) IC200PNS002 connects a PROFINET IO network to a distant VersaMax module node. It scans the modules in its node (fetching and transmitting input and output data), broadcasts input data at the preset update rate on the PROFINET network, and collects data for module outputs. It coordinates PROFINET connection and module setup between an I/O Controller and modules on the remote node. If network communications fail, it controls I/O states based on the individual module settings.
Its power demand is 1.10A at 5VDC, which can be supplied through one or two power supplies. It is optional to use the second power supply. When two power supplies are attached, they act as redundant backups for one another. A combination of AC and DC power supplies is permitted, but both must be isolated or both must be non-isolated. It features two SC-Duplex ports with 100Mbps Multi-Mode fiber connections. Each Ethernet port detects the kind of network and automatically changes the speed and connection settings. IT supports 100BASE-FX (media type) with a wavelength of 1300 nanometers over a distance of 2-2000 meters for full-duplex and 2- 400 meters for half-duplex. At least, IC200PNS002 requires one full-duplex connection for a fully established connection. The USB port on the front is utilized for firmware updates. It can be configured to be a Media Redundancy Clients (MRCs). It has LED indicators- Power Supply LED, OK LED, FAULT LED, CONNECT LED, LAN LED, Two-Port LEDs, MAINT LED, and COMM LED- to indicate the operation status.
