The GE Fanuc IC200CMM020 is a Versamax serial communications module. Designed by GE Fanuc, it is designed, and manufactured to be used with Modbus RTU master modules. It is meant to be controlled using a Genius network interface unit. It should be installed on a Versamax I/O Station. Each I/O station on this module can serve a maximum of two serial communication module at once. Using the built-in serial port, external devices connected to this module can receive 5 volts of power. 100 milliamperes of power is available for the external devices. However, the power rating might vary depending on the wiring.
With the GE Fanuc IC200CMM020 Versamax, an extra power rating of 5 volts is required for the use of external adapters, serial line terminations, serial line activity, and the duplex mode. The maximum load current rating for this module is 200 milliamperes. When this limit is crossed, the internal current limit switch is triggered automatically. The user can easily identify an overdraw situation if the LED indicator light goes amber. As soon as the situation is dealt with, the LED will go back to its default color, and power, and communication will resume to flow smoothly like before.
