The GE Fanuc IC697MDL740 is a discrete output module. This module can be paired with solenoids, LED indicators, industrial motor starters, and other applications. These loads can be linked to one of the sixteen (16) outlet points on the module, which are organized into four-point clusters. Each of these points receives a direct current output of twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) volts at a rate of two (2) amperes per point of long-term current. The IC697MDL740's input surge conduction capacity, however, is greater than two (2) amperes.
A ten (10)-ampere fuse is shared by all of the output point clusters. The module's face has a number of LED indicators that show the state of the circuit and fuse at various points. The IC697MDL740's configuration does not require any DIP or jump switches. The user can combine this module with software to help configure the system. The SNP port or Ethernet TCP/IP are used for this process lot.
Furthermore, the user has the option of configuring the IC697MDL740 to turn off or keep the output points in their current state. Each IC697MDL740 comes with a mechanical key that may be used to modify a slot to fit the module. The key is put into the backplate of the IC697MDL740 and slipped into the slot where the module was originally fitted. To avoid unintentional usage of the slot, this key remains in the groove even after the module has been removed.
