The GE Fanuc IC697CPM915 is a single slot CPU with a clock speed of 32 megahertz (MHz). This CPU is a member of the Series 90-70 product line. This CPU can carry out tasks that include controlling machines, controlling processes, and controlling the handling of material in actuality. A rack-mounted backplane is used. Once installed, this CPU can communicate with Input/Output and smart-option modules. Key features of this CPU module include a same-slot battery-backed memory of 1 megabyte and mixed I/Os.
This CPU supports calculations that are floating-point, performing at a time span of 0.4 microseconds for each Boolean function. This operation of this module is conducted by controlling a 3-position switch comprising of RUN and STOP options or by an RPC (remotely attached programmer) and its corresponding software. The battery on this module can be made to connect with either connector. A toggle switch is present, and it should be put on STOP mode while the key switch has the Memory Protection toggled Off.
