The IC697ALG441, which was designed and produced by GE Fanuc, is a voltage expander module. A typical high-level analog input subsystem consists of a base converter and, if necessary, one or more expansion modules. The base converter module has eight (8) voltage and current variance inputs that may be independently configured. These inputs can be increased with the use of expander modules. It indicates that expander modules can be used to increase voltage and current. This voltage expander module is utilized across the analog subsystem. The IC697ALG441 has 16 channels, each of which accepts voltage input ranging from negative ten (-10) volts to ten (10) volts and current input ranging from four (4) to twenty (20) milliamperes. More channels can be added to this module at a cheaper cost. For the base converter module, the IC697ALG441 offers a rapid update rate. Individual user scaling is possible on each IC697ALG441 input channel. Operators can add up to 120 channels. To do this, a daisy chain of up to 7 expander modules from the base converter must be established. The IC697ALG441 is very simple to set up, as no jumpers or DIP switches are required. Instead, this module can be combined with different software for the purpose of configuring the system. When installing and removing terminal boards, the subsystem must be turned off. Wire sizes ranging from 22 to 14 AWG are accepted by the terminal board. The module's differential inputs are independent of the ground reference and they connect each input line to the signal supply while providing outstanding noise suppression.
