The GE Fanuc Emerson IC697ALG320 is a high-level analog voltage/current output module that can be employed for the Series 90-70 of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This module provides four (4) output channels which can be enabled or disabled individually with a resolution of 16 bits and 14 bits monotonicity. The IC697ALG320 offers a fast channel acquisition time of 2 milliseconds. The IC697ALG320 outputs can be programmed for either voltage or current output ranges: from 4 milliamperes to 20 milliamperes, from 0 milliamperes to 22.5 milliamperes, or from -10 Volts DC to 10 Volts DC. This module draws a current of 1.6 Amperes at a voltage of 5 Volts DC and has one LED indicator to show the power and module status. The IC697ALG320 can be programmed and configured with either MS-DOS or Windows through either an SNP port or Ethernet TCP/IP interface.

The IC697ALG320 outputs employ the backplane optical isolation offered by optocouplers to provide electrical isolation and to prevent steady-state and transient overvoltage cases. The IC697ALG320 includes a non-volatile EEPROM memory that stores factory calibration data. The IC697ALG320 outputs can be individually scaled by the user by converting engineering unit values into either milliamperes or millivolts. The IC697ALG320 can be easily mounted on either an expansion or CPU rack and connected using faceplate screw terminals which are located on the 40 terminal block connector. The IC697ALG320 doesn’t require DIP switches or jumpers to be programmed and configured. It weighs approximately 840 grams (1.85 pounds) while shipping and operates at zero (0) to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) for industrial applications.
