The Rack fan assembly IC697ACC644 is suitable for forced-air cooling in the installations where heat buildup is a concern, especially in PLC machines and systems. The assembly includes two fans and is designed to fit 5-slot Series 90-70 racks and 9-slot RX7i racks. Fans are attached to the same power supply as the PLC to guarantee that they start operating as soon as the PLC turns on.
It employs low-noise fans and ball bearings for long-term performance. The average mean time between failures for each fan is more than 80,000 hours at 40 degrees Celsius (104°F) and more than 50,000 hours at 60 degrees Celsius (140°F). It works perfectly fine in a temperature range of approximately -28 to 70 degrees Celsius. It is powered on by a DC source. Each fan draws a line current of 0.28 amperes and consumes 6.7 watts of input power while operating at a rated voltage of 24 volts. When powered on for the first time, it draws 0.70 amperes at 24 VDC.
IC697ACC644 has two fans and a filter assembly. The filter assembly consists of a retainer, guard, and filter. The material used to made the retainer and the guard is (UL94V-0) plastic, which is flame-retardant and UL rated. And the filter is made of polyurethane foam filter with a PPI (Pores Per Inch rating) of 30. A minimum distance of 23 centimeters (9 inches) is necessary between RX7i racks to replace and remove an individual fan. This rack fan assembly weighs around 4 pounds.
