The GE Fanuc Emerson IC693MAR590 is an input/relay output module that includes eight inputs and eight relay outputs. The inputs support a voltage from 0 volts AC to 132 volts AC at a frequency range from 47 hertz to 63 hertz. These reactive (resistor/capacitor) inputs are arranged as a single group. The outputs deliver a voltage of either 5 volts DC to 30 volts DC or 5 volts AC to 250 volts AC at a frequency range from 47 hertz to 63 hertz. The outputs are grouped into two well-isolated groups of four outputs with a separate common power terminal for each group. The I/O points are labeled with green LED indicators to show the current status of points. The IC693MAR590 can be easily mounted in an I/O slot of either 5 or 10-slot baseplate and at any input or output slots of the 90-30 PLC system. This module provides an on response time of 15 milliseconds and an off response time of 15 milliseconds.

The IC693MAR590 draws a current of 80 milliamperes at a backplane voltage of 5 volts DC and 70 milliamperes at a backplane voltage of 24 volts DC. The module outputs deliver a current of 2 amperes to 4 amperes per point. This module employs the backplane optical isolation offered by optocouplers to provide electrical isolation of 500 volts AC continuously between inputs and groups and 1500 volts AC between logic and field side. This device can be employed with Series 90-30 PLCs for incandescent and inductive loads. The module has N.O. contacts. The unit includes a hinged door that supports an insert in between the outside and the inside surfaces. The outside left edge of the insert is red-colored to show that this device is a high-rating voltage module. The hinged door inside area includes the wiring details of the circuit and the outside area contains the identification detail regarding the circuit.
