The IC693ALG390 output module is a 2-Channel Analog Voltage Output Module designed by GE Fanuc Automation for Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controllers. The module belongs to the GE Series 90-30 line of industrial input and output modules. It comes with only two (2) output channels. The module is meant to be used with a Series 90-30 PLC. The IC693ALG930 allows the PLC to communicate with other controllers and devices in the industrial setting. Each of the two (2) output channels of the module are capable of converting 13 bits of digital data. The data is converted to analog output that can be used as required. The analog voltage output module can draw the required power from an external power source such as a PLC backplane, where the module is installed, or from an external power supply module installed separately by the user. It draws 32 milliamperes of current at 5 Volts DC and 120 milliamperes of current at 24 Volts DC from the power source during its operation. The output range of the module runs from -10 Volts to +10 Volts.

By providing the standard supply to the module, the outputs can maintain their value even when the internal supply of the module is lost. It should be noted that the user needs to select the ‘Hold Last State’ in this instance. When the users want to reduce the load on the power supply of the PLC, a separate supply voltage needs to be installed for the module. When the power supply of the module is in operation, the LED indicator on the top of the faceplate will be ON. Users need to take care of the field connections and use instrumentation cables of the correct quality grade that are both shielded and twisted. This will help in keeping capacitive loading and noise to a minimum. It also uses optical isolation. This IC693ALG390 Analog Voltage Output Module is used to isolate external noise between the backplane of the module and the field wiring. The module is compatible with any I/O slot in the baseplate with 5 or 10 slots.
