The IC698RMX016 is an RX7i PacSystem Redundant Memory Exchange module. It features a user memory of 16 MB SDRAM. The operational voltage of the power supply is 5 volts direct current. This device requires a current of 1.8 amperes. An IEC 61754-20-compliant LC-type fiber optic connector and a ceramic zirconium ferrule are included in the kit. Zero-point-three-five (0.35) dB is the maximum insertion loss on this PacSystem. Negative thirty (-30) dB is the return loss on this controller. This GE Fanuc device is capable of being operated in a temperature range of -20 to +85 degrees Celsius.

To complete the installation, check that you have the following items: a PacSystem CPU (Ed. 2.00 or later), a PacSystem CPU RX7i rack with dedicated power supply, and one PC-compatible computer that comes preinstalled with the CIMPLICITY Machine Ed. software. You will also need Logic Developer (Ed. 4.5 or later) configuration software and other essential components. Note that RX7i systems with more than one Memory Xchange module must be mounted in a conductive metal enclosure, or equivalent, to meet radiated emission standards. Only RX7i Rack 0 should have memory modules loaded (main). RMX interfaces are recommended to be put in slots 3 & 4 of the main rack. This gives the VME request interrupt priority to the RMX interface. Although such a setup is recommended, RMX modules need not be placed in slots 4 and 3. The IC698RMX016 initially boots into an unconfigured stage, with the optical transmitter turned off. It will be unable to connect to a network until the RX7i CPU provides it with a configuration.
