The IC694PSM001 is a PSM module that helps in monitoring of two (2) independent three-phase power grids by incorporating advanced digital signal processing (ADSP) technology. ADS technology is used for the continuous processing of multiple voltage inputs and current inputs. Three voltage and four input current are continuously processed by ADSP modules. RMS voltage, RMS current, RMS power, frequency, and phase relationship between phase voltages of both grids can be measured by this IC694PSM001 module. The power synchronization and measurement module perform computations and calculations on each captured waveform and DSP processes the data in less than two-thirds of a power line cycle. Wye and delta type three-phase power systems and single-phase power systems can employ this PSM module.
The PSM module is a standard module that mounts in an RX3i rack and provides DSP capability. The PSM can be used for a variety of applications such as consumption of electrical power, monitoring, and reporting, fault monitoring, generator control features for generators to power grid synchronization, demand penalty cost reduction, and load shedding. The backplane power consumption is 400 milliamperes maximum at 5 Volts DC. Total power dissipation is 2.0 Watts maximum. 1500 Volts of isolation is offered from the backplane. The maximum number of modules per RX3i system has no restrictions so long as the power supply has sufficient capacity. The IC694PSM001 PSM module can easily be calibrated by hardware configuration using Proficy Machine Edition (PME) software. The input voltage range is 20 to 600 Volts DC. The frequency range is from 40 Hertz to 70 Hertz. The input current range is from zero (0) to 7.5 Amperes.
