The GE Fanuc Emerson IC694BEM331 is a Genius bus controller that offers communication of thirty-two devices with the PACSystems RX3i system. This unit reserves in a backplane one single slot. This controller supports either shielded twisted pair cable or daisy-chain connections. The controller employs the backplane optical isolation offered by optocouplers to provide electrical isolation of 2000 volts AC and 1500 volts AC transient common-mode rejection. This unit supports a non-condensing relative humidity range from 5 percent to 95 percent and a vibration frequency range from 10 hertz to 500 hertz. When the system is working properly, the COM LED illuminates. When an intermittent bus issue occurs, the COM LED blinks and then turns fully out when the Genius Bus fails. Additionally, the COM LED is not illuminated when the CPU does not receive qualifying data from the IC694BEM331 Bus controller. It offers a variety of customizable data rates; for example, it ships with a rate of 153.5 Kbaud for standard and enhanced communication. Additionally, this device supports transmission speeds of about 76.8 Kbaud and 38.4 Kbaud.
