The STXMBE001 is a GE Fanuc PacSystems RSTi MODBUS device. More specifically, though, this device is a MODBUS TCP/IP network adapter that with comes with I/O modules. MODBUS TCP/IP stands for Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol, which, in essence, is just a MODBUS RTU protocol, which is an open standard protocol, meaning the manufacturer can change and renew equipment without having to pay any royalties, with a TCP interface, which connects network devices on the internet with a private computer network, running on an Ethernet connection. Part number STXMBE001 can support up to 16 connections and has one (1) port for the MODBUS TCP slave network, which has an Ethernet Shielded RJ-45 cable that stretches up to 100 meters from the Ethernet Hub. The communication network can have either a line or star topology with the maximum number of nodes limited by the IP address. The data transfer and communication rate is 10/100 Mbps. The operating mode has 8 MODBUS TCP, 4 of HTTP, and a single BOOTP. The I/O modules can be up to 32 with a maximum of 2016 of digital I/O points, 126 of I/O analog channels, and a maximum input byte size of 252 bytes.
