The GE Fanuc’s IC660BLC003 connector cable is a 36-inch pre-made cable with matching connections. The IC660BLC003 wire is a Belden 9182 cable that is used for wiring I/O blocks together. When connecting I/O blocks, the IC660BLC003 cable should be connected to the first or final block such that it exits toward the top of the block. With the IC660BLC003 cable, a 150-Ohm terminating connector should also be inserted at Serial Port 1 and Serial Port 2. For connecting the bus to I/O blocks, GE Fanuc recommends wiring them directly to the terminal assembly on the block. In most cases, such bus connections are considered permanent. While the system is running, bus connections ought not to be disconnected since the ensuing data errors might produce dangerous control situations.
Because the removal of the terminal unit on a block might result in the bus continuity being broken, the bus should be turned off before anything is removed. The wiring of the blocks can be performed through an intermediary connector if the bus is regulating essential processes that must not be shut off.
