The IC600BF827 is designed to assure and supply velocity and acceleration testing scope to a broad number of industrial processes when the input pulse frequency would otherwise exceed the GE Series Six CPU. GE Fanuc designed and manufactured the IC600BF827 high-speed counter unit as a microprocessor-based input/output module. It supports a wide range of inputs for counting, including those given by a digital tachometer or quadrature encoder unit, as well as transistor/photo switching device. The input levels of this device are controlled using mechanical switches. The module can also be customized to accept TTL single-ended, TTL differential, or a voltage range of 10 to 30 volts DC by the use of jumpers.
This high-speed counter module has a rated current of 1.2 amperes at a rated voltage of 5 volts DC. This high-speed counter unit does have a total of twelve (12) software presets that can be accessed by its register; four (4) of which regulate the 4-real-time external outputs and the other eight (8) of which are internal presets that may be used by the processor. Because it incorporates built-in diagnostics capabilities, such as LED (light emitting diode) indications and CPU (central processing unit) status reporting, the IC600BF827 high-speed counter module may continue to work even if the CPU goes offline or malfunctions. On the front panel, there are additional DIP switches for customizing the filtering and parameters of the IC600BF827 high-speed counting module. The front panel of this IC600BF827 high-speed counter component has a 36-point connector for attaching all external wiring to the module.
