This module offers eight (8) distinct channels for analog voltage outputs with an autoscaling feature. Bus interface unit (BIU) is used for receiving output data in this module. GE Field control module scales the data according to designed scaling constraints and then transforms the information into output ranging from -10.0 Volts to +10.0 Volts. This module has enhanced diagnostic capability which enables it to identify under range and over range situations and loss of user power. It offers 3 bytes of diagnostic data to BIU and featured alarms that can be set up in different events. Reaching 50 millivolts is necessary to avoid under range and over range output value. An uncalibrated module alarm is also featured in it.

This compact module can take zero (0) to eight (8) words of analog data, zero (0) to three (3) bytes of data for a module, and zero (0) to two (2) bytes of data for clearing alarms. A total of 16 bits of discrete O/P data are used by the BIS unit for clearance of faults and alarm bits. Calibration related bits are 0, 1, 2, 4, and 6, which should never be set during normal operation. The exchange of data takes place in BIU. The input terminal block with Box terminals has twenty-five (25) terminals per module. The minimum user load is 5000 Ω. The channel active feature is also available for configuring the channel as active and inactive status. Local output defaults are also configurable with defaults of zero (0) and hold state. The size of magnitude data is a total of fourteen bits. This analog output module is compatible with BIU 2.0 revision and its later versions.
