The IC670ALG230 current source input module is an 8-Point Current Input module by GE Fanuc from the Genius Field Control I/O series. The Genius Field Control system by GE Fanuc provides a cost-effective control solution covering a wide range of control systems. A field control system typically consists of a Bus Interface module that provides I/O scanning, configuration, and intelligent processing. It also includes a connection with a group of I/O modules and a terminal block that provide a base for all the field-side wiring. The IC670ALG230 is a current source input module that can be configured from the Bus Interface Unit (BIU) through a compatible handheld monitor. The configuration parameters of the module can also be written through a bus in applications supporting bus-level configuration.

The IC670ALG230 module has 8 point current source inputs, each of these input channels can accept current level input signals of default 0 to 20 milliamperes. The current level signal received by the module is converted to a 12-bit unscaled input data which is then sent to the Bus Interface Unit that scales on the data and sends it to the host device. The IC670ALG230 analog current source input module can use 24 Volts DC power supply for current loops, but if the system requires point-to-point isolation, a separate power supply needs to be used. The IC670ALG230 module is installed on the terminal block unit that supports I/O module replacement without having to reconfigure the field wiring. The IC670ALG230 module comes with a compact, sturdy aluminum housing that provides a protective environment to the module.
