The MVI56-PDPMV1 module is compatible with the ControlLogix platform. The Profibus DP-V1 module for ControlLogix platform processors is a strong communication interface from Allen-Bradley. The module, which was created under license from Rockwell Automation, uses proprietary backplane technology to allow for robust data interchange with ControlLogix processors. The module complies with the IEC 61158 Master requirements in its entirety. By implementing the class 2 or class 1 DP-V1 services of Profibus DP-V1 and DP-v0 protocol, the processor can interact with the slave devices through which we can transfer the parameter data fast, and securely. 

Between the ControlLogix CPU and the PROFIBUS Network, the module function as an independent I/O module. The Input/Output data transfer on PROFIBUS is asynchronous to Data transfer from the processor. PROFIBUS connection options, including wired and wireless stand-alone gateways, are available from ProSoft Technology for all Rockwell Automation systems. The Profibus DP communication module from ProSoft Technology supports CIPconnect. This module offers extended diagnostic data and may be set with up to 1536 bytes of output and 1536 cyclic bytes of data.

The MVI56-PDPMV1 features built-in LED status indicators. The LEDs show the module's current condition of operation and its status. Run, Ready, Token, and Error are some of the LED indications on this controller. A 1756 ControlLogix chassis is equipped with the MVI56-PDPMV1 Profibus connection module. It takes up a single chassis slot and draws three (3) milliamperes at twenty-four (24) volts DC (direct current) and eight hundred (800) milliamperes at five (5) volts DC from the backplane.
