Product number W73 is a thermal overload heater element. Its purpose is to offer resistance to the flow of current, therefore leading to the conversion of electric energy into heat energy. This heater element is a type W device and, therefore, is used in heavy duty power supply cables. It is a Class 20 rated device for protection purposes. This means that when the current flow within the circuit exceeds the maximum rated thermal current by six hundred (600) percent, the device trips over a time duration of twenty (20) seconds. The current that is supplied to the device is between sixty-nine (69) amperes and seventy-six (76) amperes. The device is very efficient for application together with the magnetic motor controls and motor starters, as well as the overload thermal relays.
At the controller, the ambient temperature rating is 40 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. For the motor, the ambient temperature rating is also 40 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The service factor is considered to be at least 1.15. The motor full load amperes (FLA), as well as the full load amperes that can be adjusted, has no value. The weight of the W73 thermal overload heater element is approximately 1.32 pounds, or 0.6 kilograms. Additionally, the physical dimensions of this thermal overload heater element is 7.09 millimeters x 6.3 millimeters x 8.27 millimeters. This device is compatible with a starter size of two (2).
