The MVI71-MNET module is a very important component that allows for a connection to be formed between any Rockwell Automation PLC processor and Modbus TCP/IP network compatible device for any application. This module allows the PLC to interface by providing a medium for communication. The module can be classified as an input/output unit, giving it full access to the processor’s memory. After this access, all the communication that takes place between the processor and module is done using Ladder logic. All the data transfer that occurs in this phase between the PLC and the Modbus TCP/IP network is via a set of 5000-word register space present in the module. The memory usage in this module comes with an advantage as the user can pre-define it before use and other important parameters such as response delay and response timeout can also be configured from 0 to 65535 milliseconds and 0 to 65535 milliseconds respectively, according to the client need. Another important aspect of this module is that It also supports 10/100 Base-T Ethernet. This module that acts as a bridge helps in the optimization of throughput and makes sure that valuable bandwidth is not lost. It has twenty independent server connections that help remote clients to access all data stored in the module.
