Part number MVI69-PDPMV1 is a PROFIBUS DPV1 master communication module, which was designed and produced by ProSoft Technology. This device was designed to operate with CompactLogix and MircoLogix processors that were produced by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This module has a master configuration that complies with IEC 61158. It uses either Class 1 or Class 2 DPV1 services for acyclic parameters data transfer. This feature gives the module easy communication with PROFIBUS DPV0/V1 slave devices. The unit features a single slot that is compatible with backplane series 1769. It operates as an input / output module and accesses the processor memory when transferring data from the processor and the module. This ProSoft module is compatible with most of the CompactLogix and MicroLogix processors series 1500 LRP, excluding 1769-QBFC1B, 1769-L16x, and 1769-L18x.

This module can accept up to one hundred and twenty-five (125) units of slaves with the use of an additional repeater, and it can provide input and output data of 1536 bytes. It has incorporated RS-485 port, optically isolated with a DC-DC converter. The module DPV1 can read and write acyclic communications and provides alarm handling. As master unit, this module supports sync and freeze commands, as well as much more. It has four (4) LED (light emitting diode) indicators to visualize ready, run, error and token. This unit has a rated current load of eight hundred (800) milliamperes at five (5) volts DC (direct current), as well as a power supply distance rating value of two (2).
