Product number MVI46-MCM is a Modbus communication module that features a single slot. This module was designed and manufactured by ProSoft Technology. This module is compatible with any Bulletin 1746 backplane. It can be configured as either a local or extended rack. It comes with one (1) RJ45, or DB-9M with a supplied cable, and one (1) RS-232 CFG port. This module also has an RJ45 RS-232 configuration connector. Additionally, it has two (2) RJ45 RS-232/422/485 application ports. The RS-232 port is used for configuring this Modbus communication module. This module is compatible with SLC 5/02 M0/M1 capable processors. Additionally, any newer processors are also compatible with this module. This Modbus communication module is equipped with several LED indicators. These LED indicators include module status, application status, serial activity and error LED status, and backplane transfer status indicators. 

The ProSoft Technology MVI46-MCM Modbus communication module has a backplane current load rated at 800 milliamperes at 5 volts. This module should be operated within an area where the temperature ranges from 0 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent temperature range of 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, when this module is being stored, the temperature of the surrounding area should range from -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, or -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. The relative humidity should have levels that range from 5% to 95% (non-condensing). This Modbus communication module can withstand an operational shock rated up to 30 G, as well as a non-operational shock rated up to 50 G.
