The 42MRU-5200 belongs to the PHOTOSWITCH Series 5000 modular photoelectric sensors. This device was designed and produced by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. It is a green line photoelectric sensor with a sensing distance range of 50.8 mm to 6 meters, or 2 inches to 20 feet. The sensing mode is polarized retro-reflective, in which the emitter and receiver are in the same unit and the light from the emitter is normally reflected to the receiver using a reflector panel. When there is an object in the light path, then less amount of light is received back. The transmitted/emitted LED (light emitting diode) light source is a 660 nm visible red light with a field of view of 2.5°. The response time of the sensor is 2.5 milliseconds, plus the time taken by the module. The base operational voltage is 240 volts AC with a 42MTB-5001 terminal. The supply voltage of this device is 204 volts to 254 volts AC with a rated power consumption of 4 watts. The energized output can be either light or dark selectable. The sensitivity adjustment is available in this sensor. The operating temperature of the EM relay is -40 to +65 degrees Celsius, or -40 to +150 degrees Fahrenheit, and the operating temperature for the SS Relay is -40 to +52 degrees Celsius, or -40 to +125 degrees Fahrenheit. The housing material for the polarized retro-reflective sensor is Valox, which provides protection against high-impacts. The lens of this device is made of glass. The sensor has the option to power on the false pulse protection.
