This 42DRU-5500 photoelectric sensor is a sensor manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The sensor is a part of the Photoswitch line. This 42DRU-5500 sensor can be used for intrinsic safety. The main applications of these sensors are hazardous industrial locations like Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Groups C, D, E, F, and G types of hazardous locations or as Class I, II, and III Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D, F, and G types of hazardous locations. The mounting of this photoelectric sensor on the 42DTB-5500 of Allen–Bradley terminal base. For the perfect fit of sensor and terminal base during mounting, the key is designed for the perfect alignment. This photoelectric sensor comes outfitted with several protection features like output overvoltage protection with barriers, turn-on pulse suppression, and reverse polarity protection. This sensor has a response time of one millisecond. The voltage rating for this sensor ranges from 13 to 29.5 volts DC, and the current rating is 26 mA (milliamperes) max at 13 volts DC & 30 mA (milliamperes) max at 29.5 volts DC. The relative humidity level for this 42DRU-5500 photoelectric sensor is 90% without the consideration of condensation. The sensor should be in an environment with an ambient temperature of -40 to 65 degrees Celsius ( -40 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit). This 42DRU-5500 photoelectric sensor is specially designed to operate in a hazardous industrial location, and it can operate smoothly without any issues. The sensor has dual outputs in the form of one NPN collector and one PNP open collector.
