Product number 42185-800-01 is an overload relay. This product was designed and manufactured by the company known as Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. The overload relay detects heat generated by motors and other electrical equipment. The main function of the overload relay is to stop the motor when it reaches a certain temperature threshold. This action protects the electrical equipment, as well as other devices in the circuit. The overload relay is compatible with a variety of electric motors. The Allen Bradley 42185-800-01 overload relay has multiple contacts that are normally closed (NC). However, when a heat sensor detects a significant temperature increase, the contacts open up. Once the relay responds and stops operating, normal operation can resume if the temperature drops sufficiently.

The Allen Bradley 42185-800-01 overload relay also has the ability to prevent the electrical equipment from starting up immediately when it is under hazardous conditions. It ensures safe operation by compensating for temperature rises that cause interruptions in operation before resuming operation. The Allen Bradley 42185-800-01 overload relay is housed within an enclosure with a rating of NEMA A600. The housing has mounting holes to allow easy installation of the overload relay and to protect it from contact with liquids and other hazardous materials. The enclosure is designed for a thermal current of 10 amperes and a voltage of 600 volts. The overload relay is available in sizes 0 to 1 and has three (3) poles. The relay has the ability to operate from 120 to 600 volts alternating current (AC). The withstand voltage is 720 volts alternating current (AC).
