For a powerful motor control system, the Allen Bradley 100-C72D10 is a great choice since it can handle a maximum current rating of seventy-two (72) amperes. The supported power rating for this module is 5 horsepower at 115 volts AC single phase and 15 at 230 volts AC single phase. The contactor does not provide overcurrent protection, but it does support a surge suppressor optional accessory to help with unexpected electric surges. The contactor features one (1) normally open auxiliary contact which can be controlled using a coil rated at 110 volts AC at a frequency of 50 hertz. The device is IPX20 protected, however, it does not provide any kind of protection against moisture or dust since it has an open-type enclosure.

The contact terminals on this contactor can be accessed from the front and the module can be mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail. It is recommended to mount the 100-C72D10 contactor in a horizontal position on a DIN or a panel box, protected against a harsh industrial environment. When installing such high-power equipment, it is always recommended to wear protective gear and follow the instruction guidelines. The 100-C72D10 operates at an ambient temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The contactor can be paired with a pneumatic timer to control the switching an electronic timer is also an option.
