Description:
The Allen-Bradley 100-A24ND3 is a 100-A series contactor. The contactor has a current rating of 24 amperes and has a 3-pole configuration. The coil can be energized using a 110 volts or 120 volts AC voltage supply at 50/60 hertz. The coil is used to close the normally open (N.O.) auxiliary contact. The contactor is not a compact contactor and has a large frame size; hence, it is not recommended to mount it in a panel box given its footprint size. The 100-A24ND3 can be mounted on a DIN rail.

The series 100-A is one of the oldest Allen-Bradley IEC contactors. These contactors have a very large frame and are heavier. The 100-A24ND3 is rated at twenty-four (24) amperes and one hundred and ten (110) volts alternating current (AC). The contactor provides the control system with a switching option mainly to control inductive loads such as motors. The motors that this contactor can help operate should not exceed the current limit of twenty-four (24) amperes. This contactor supports a power rating of 7.5 horsepower at 230 volts AC, as well as twenty (20) horsepower at 575 volts AC. The pole configuration on this contactor is three (3) poles with one (1) normally open (N.O.) auxiliary contact, which is controlled by the coil.
For best performance, it is recommended to install this device in a less humid environment with a temperature rating lower than one hundred and four (104) degrees Fahrenheit. The recommended wire size for the screw-type terminal is 12 to 14 AWG. Other applications for a contactor with such features can be controlling lighting, heaters, and capacitors. The contacts on this contactor are placed on the front and can be tightened using a Phillips head screwdriver. When installing the device follow the instruction manual and safety guidelines. It is always recommended to cut the power when replacing or installing such high-power devices. This contactor does not have IP2X protection like the 100-C and 100-D series. For more compact and newer designs, the Allen-Bradley 100-E series is recommended. The 100-E series provides all the safety features including IP2X rating and integrated surge suppressor.
