This NEMA size 3 multi-speed starter has a maximum power rating of 25 horsepower (Hp) at a motor voltage of 200 volts, 30 horsepower (Hp) at 230 volts, 50 horsepower (Hp) at 380 to 415 volts, and 50 horsepower (Hp) at 460 to 575 volts. This open-type starter can be supplied in vertical construction form, and with a number of overload relay eutectic alloy options. Also, this 3-phase starter requires 3 heater elements for each speed, has a service limit current rating of 104 amperes, has a maximum plugging and jogging duty 3-phase power rating of 15 horsepower (Hp) at 200 volts, 20 horsepower (Hp) at 230 volts, and 30 horsepower (Hp) at 380 to 575 volts. Additionally, it has a max circuit closing inrush peak current of 947 amperes. This device has an estimated lifecycle of 5 million operations and can accommodate a maximum of 8 auxiliary contacts. This product has an average pickup operating time of 37 milliseconds and 20 milliseconds for the dropout operating time.

The 520F-DOD requires a wire size of 8 to 1/0 AWG for its power terminals. The required torque on the power terminal wire clamps and pressure connectors/lugs is 150 pound-inch (lb-in).
