The Allen-Bradley 509-EOD starter has a feed-through construction and it can be field wired for single or three-phase applications. It does not have any enclosure. The nominal coil voltage is 110 to 120 Volts with a frequency of 50/60 Hertz. The eutectic overload relay is CSA certified, UL listed, and complies with UL 508; it is CE marked. The continuous current rating is 135 Amperes and service limit current rating is 156 Amperes. The transformer primary switching kVA rating is 6.8 for inrush current, less than 20 times continuous current. For inrush current of 20 to 40 times continuous current, the rating is 3.4 Kilovolt-amperes. The circuit closing inrush current peak including offset for three phase is 1581 Amperes. The number of switching poles can vary from 2 to 5 with dimensions for width ranging from 7 to 10 and 7/16 inches (178 to 265.1 millimeters) and height of 12 11/64 inches (309 millimeters) and 7 13/16 inches (198.4 millimeters). The shipping weight varies from 22 to 28.5 pounds (10 to 13 kilograms). The wire size for power terminals is #6 to 4/0 AWG with required torque of 275 lb-in., and it has pressure terminals. The contact material is silver alloy for power contacts and silver for auxiliary contacts. The wire rating is 167 degrees Fahrenheit (75 degrees Celsius) or higher. The starter is mounted in vertical position and operates in the temperature range of -25 to 65 degrees Celsius (-13 to 149 degrees Fahrenheit). It can work at altitudes up to 10,000 feet before derating.
