The Allen-Bradley designed and manufactured 509-COD-XXX is a NEMA full voltage non-reversing starter with a size of two (2). This starter has three (3) poles and a voltage rating of 115 to 120 volts alternating current (AC) with a sixty (60) hertz coil. It offers open-type functionality with provision for attaching an overload relay. The 509-COD-XXX starting device has the capability to be mounted via a panel or a DIN rail.

The 509-COD-XXX, manufactured by Allen Bradley, is a starter that is a NEMA full voltage non-reversing module. Bulletin 509 series were used to create this starter, which is not reversible. It is a NEMA full voltage size two (2) starter that does not work in conjunction with a NEMA contactor or an electronic overload relay. It also has an optional communication module to communicate with the starter. Using a Bulletin 505V, these 509-COD-XXX product series are vertically organized and are available in sizes ranging from zero (0) to five (5).

The voltage of this Motor Starter Coil is 115 or 120 volts at 60 hertz (Hz), and 110 volts at 50 hertz. It is a series A series product, and its current rating ranges from fourteen (14) to forty-five (45) amperes, with a continuous current flow of forty-five (45) amperes. Part number 509-COD-XXX has power ratings of 10 horsepower (Hp) at 200 volts, 15 horsepower at 230 volts, and 25 horsepower at 460 to 575 volts. Furthermore, it has a power rating of 3 Hp at 115 volts AC and 7.5 Hp at 230 volts AC when powered by a single-phase supply.

This 509-COD-XXX is a starter that works with E100 overload relays. E100 electronic overload type relays are the basic-tier electronic overload relays of the next generation. It is also compatible with E300 Overload Relays, which are defined in Bulletin 193/592 as "E300 (networked) and E200 (non-networked) Electronic Overload Relays," which are "the most up-to-date technology for overload protection."
