The 440R-EM4R2D is an expansion module made by Allen-Bradley Guardmaster. This unit is a safety relay with delayed electromechanical relay outputs. It offers four N.O. delayed safety outputs along with one PNP auxiliary output. Available output types include on-delay, off-delay, and jog outputs that are configurable using the built in rotary switches. The relay is controlled with one single wire safety Jog Input. Power is supplied via a 24 Volt DC input. The safety relay has a power consumption rating of 3.5 Watts and has a 5.5 second power on delay. The input current draw at nominal voltage is rated at 11 milliamperes. This safety relay does not include galvanic isolation, but does offer overvoltage protection. External fuse output is provided at 6 Amperes for slow blow fuses or 10 Amperes for quick blow fuses. This relay is not able to detect short circuits but does offer short circuit protection. The maximum continuous output current for single wire safety is 50 milliamperes. Supported wire specifications are a wire diameter of 0.2 to 2.5 millimeters squared (24 to 14 AWG) with copper wire that can withstand temperatures as high as 167 degrees Fahrenheit (75 degrees Celsius). This unit is housed in an IP40 NEMA Type 1 enclosure and is mounted using a 1.38 inch (35 millimeter) DIN rail in an IP54 enclosure. The case is constructed out of Polyamide PA 6.6 and terminals are protected with IP20 standard construction. The dimensions for this safety relay are 0.88 x 4.69 x 4.47 inches (119.14 x 22.5 x 113.6 millimeters). The shipping weight is approximately 0.49 pounds (220 grams).
