Description:

This is the Allen-Bradley 440G-T21BGPT-1B safety switch. It is a 3-interlock positive mode switch that is tongue operated. It features 3 normally closed (NC) safety contacts. It has two entry slots available and can support up to four entry points for actuators. Two normally open (NO) auxiliary contacts are also provided. The switch has an emergency escape release function and has power to release and power to lock operation. It comes in a red glass filled PBT enclosure.

The 440G-T21BGPT-1B is a Guard Locking switch produced by Allen-Bradley. This unit is part of the TLS-GD2 series of safety switches that are intended to lock machine guards closed. This component also ensures that the machine guard is isolated while the guard is in the open position. The switch features a power to release function. The locked switch can be released in emergencies using two manual release points. The escape release feature provides an emergency release button on the hazard side which can prevent people being trapped in a hazard area. The switch has a durable design and has an IP69K rated structure that allows harsh high pressure and temperature washdown operations. This unit features two normally closed safety contacts along with one auxiliary contact. The solenoid has one normally closed and one normally open contact and operates at a voltage of 24 volts AC/DC. A GD2 standard actuator is installed on this locking switch. This component has a half inch NPT adapter. The switch comes with an actuator guide made out of stainless steel that protects it from damage due to a misaligned guard. The switch has a design life of at least one million (1,000,000) operations. It features a maximum holding force of 2000 Newtons, or 450 pounds feet (lb-ft). The switch housing is made out of Glass filled Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT), which is UL approved. The actuator is constructed from stainless steel. The switch is finished in a prominent red coloring and weighs approximately 400 grams, or the equivalent of 0.88 pounds.
