Part number 42SRP-6024 is a PHOTOSWITCH series 6000 photoelectric sensor designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation for range finding and object detection. This product has a field of view of 0.15 cm² and a 660-nanometer, visible red emitter LED. Fitted with an infrared sensing beam, this device implements fixed focus diffuse sensing mode for sensing and detection applications, such as detection of small targets, detection of color marks, as well as finding objects at specific distance from the sensor. It provides an accurate and efficient solution to finding miniature objects in specific locations. Although its accuracy is great, it is not suitable for sensing in general purpose applications as it requires objects to be placed in accurate positions and has a limited sensing range. This photoelectric sensor is fitted with a power metal oxide field effect transistor (MOSFET) output type. It has a capacity of 300 milliamperes AC/DC and a maximum leakage current of 1 milliampere. Additionally, it comes with a 4-pin, 3-meter quick disconnect cable for both AC and DC models.

Allen Bradley’s 42SRP-6024 PHOTOSWITCH series 6000 photo switch comes enclosed in a compact cylindrical noryl housing with an acrylic lens. It has a fast response time and reverse polarity/false pulse protection. It is designed to operate at temperatures between -40 and +56 degrees Celsius. It has a NEMA rating of 3, 4X, 6, 12 and 13 (IP67). The relative humidity rating of this product is 95 percent maximum. It can resist shocks at 30 G with a 1-millisecond pulse duration, as well as vibrations of 10 to 55 hertz with a 1-millimeter amplitude, thus meeting or exceeding IEC 60947-5-2 standards.
