The 1494R-N60 is a non-fusible disconnect switch that was designed and distributed by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This device belongs to the Bulletin 1494R series of products. The primary function of this rotary device is to mechanically disrupt the flow of power safely, providing maintenance and management in an operator-friendly manner. Hence, its users can ensure that the circuits downstream from the switch are safe to work on. This rotary disconnect switch also has lock-out and tag-out features commonly referred to as LOTO. These capabilities of this unit assist in the safe execution of safety procedures on-site for personnel and the enhancement of preventative measures to ensure the proper disengagement of loads before and during operation and maintenance.

The Allen Bradley 1494R-N60 disconnect switch has a current rating of 60 amperes. This is a three-phase unit. Aside from that, it contains a NEMA type 1 or NEMA type 12 enclosure for safe mounting and protection. These are three power poles used for the main configuration of the device with its compatible modules. The primary disconnection type of this switch is performed manually by the personnel responsible for its operation. Because the switch should be coupled to the rotary operating handle via a rod or shaft, installing this unit inside an enclosure requires considerable mechanical labor. When operating this device, the temperature of the surrounding area should range from -20 to 40 degrees Celsius, or the equivalent temperature range of -4 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The humidity level appropriate for this device is 90 percent at 20 degrees Celsius and 50 percent at 40 degrees Celsius.
