Designed and produced by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation, the 1494C-CM6 is a cable designed to offer cable-operated, flange-mounted switches a right-hand mechanism with which they meet industrial requirements for disconnecting means. The cable, with the right-hand mechanism it offers, is fully compatible with Bulletin 1494 disconnect switches used to monitor and disconnect the power supply to mechanical and electronic devices on particularly endangered system operations. It is one of the two flexible cables with almost equal specification and mechanism. The second cable, 1494C-CMX6, has the left-hand mechanism. The 1494C-CM6 is a more resourceful kit as most applications make use of panels with a right-hand flange. Moreover, the flex cable permits mounting of the disconnect handles on the right or left flange of enclosures to adapt them for the diverse applications which they may be intended.

Part number 1494C-CM6 is a UL listed cable, and is certified to meet the CCC, CUL and KC standards. It is available as a flexible conductor of 5 feet in length and is suitable for operations with a current rating of up to 200 amperes. Also, it features a handle to visually indicate the on or off status of the switch. It is easy and fast to mount the cable-operated switches in any suitable position on a panel, thereby optimizing panel space efficiency in switch mounting. Additionally, it is unlike rod-operated mechanisms having complex installation requirements because measurements for precise alignment of the connecting rod in a switch with its handles are not hurdles of installation any longer. The cable allows disconnect handles to be placed away from the switch to any height appropriate for the operator.
