The 140M-I8P-D10S-M is a Motor Protection Circuit Breaker (MPCB) by Allen-Bradley. This circuit breaker has 3 poles and is rated for up to 205 Amperes of frame current. It has a Size I frame and is certified by UL and CSA. The 140M-I8P-D10S-M features an adjustable magnetic trip for protecting the connected motor against electrical faults. Available magnetic trip settings are 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1000. This MPCB has an operational current rating of 100 Amperes and an operating voltage rating of 600 Volts AC. The device allows thermal protection as well as electromagnetic protection and makes contactors and overload relays redundant. The 140M-I8P-D10S-M offers protection against a variety of electrical faults for the connected motor. Overloads, phase-loss, and short circuits are all protected against and wiring is made secure ensuring motor reliability. The entire drive circuit can be isolated using the disconnection function offered by the 140M-I8P-D10S-M. This motor protection circuit breaker is also designed for use for motor disconnection applications. It has integrated buttons that allow the motor circuits to be manually switched. This also allows the motors to be disconnected in order to carry out maintenance and replace components. Care needs to be taken to ensure that the circuit breaker is switched to the off position and the system voltage is zero before maintenance is performed. This device may also be used in applications involving industrial machines that need to be started up manually. For multi-motor applications, the use of the 140M-I8P-D10S-M offers minimal panel size requirements and flexibility in system configuration.
