The 140-CA11 is an auxiliary contact device belonging to the A series auxiliary contact devices manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This auxiliary contact device is intended for use with the Bulletin 140-CMN motor protection circuit breakers. Current flows not exceeding ten (10) amperes are supported for switching by this auxiliary contact.  This auxilary contact device is front-mounted and supports only one (1) connection per motor protection circuit breaker. It may provide the following protection and control capabilities when used in combination with the 140-CMN protection circuit breakers: magnetic security, surge protection, temperature security, switch disconnection for motor branch circuit, branch-circuit, and short-circuit. The Allen-Bradley 140-A11 auxiliary contact device for the 140-MN is a two-pole device with one N.O. (normally open) and one N.C. (normally closed) contact.

The N.O. (normally open) and N.C. (normally closed) contacts are available on this auxiliary contact device. This Allen-Bradley 140-CA11 auxiliary contact for Bulletin 140-CMN motor protection circuit breakers also has a frontal mount, weighs approximately 0.44 kilograms (kg), and operates at six hundred and ninety (690) volts. This auxiliary contact is an add-on for the 140-CMN unit that helps generate thermal release trip current. Motors are protected from overload by configurable current-dependent postponed bi-metal release. This auxiliary contact and the 140-CMN, together, provide overload characteristics to safeguard motors from malfunctions, with single phasing, careful testing and adjustment, ensuring effective motor protection. The overload characteristic can also be used to protect transformers. As manual motor controllers go, the 140-CMN frame motor protection circuit breakers are UL Approved & CSA Certified, with optional approvals for motor disconnect and group installation.
