The 100S-C97DJ14BC provides safety to a motor control system by opening the circuit when connected to a hazardous load. The contactor can allow a maximum of ninety-seven (97) amperes (AC-3 rating), after which it will open the contacts, breaking the circuit. The 100S-C97DJ14BC has three (3) power poles, four (4) normally closed auxiliary contacts, and one (1) normally open auxiliary contact. To control the contacts on the 100S-C97DJ14BC, it features an electronic coil placed on the line-side terminal rated at twenty-four (24) volts direct current (DC). The contactor operates at a maximum temperature of seventy-five (75) degrees Celsius and has a storage temperature of approximately eighty-five (85) degrees Celsius. 

It is recommended to install all contactors in a panel box to avoid environmental factors, such as moisture and dirt affecting the performance of the contactors over time. The contactor can be mounted at a maximum of 9800 feet altitude. The 100S-C97DJ14BC has been tested for vibration and shocks. The module does come with IP2X protection on the terminals for protection against fingertips to avoid accidental touches to the contact terminals. The manufacturer recommends following the instruction guide when installing the module to avoid installation errors or damage to the systems/equipment.
