The Allen-Bradley 1746-OG16 is a Digital DC Output Module that has sixteen (16) TTL outputs with a single common terminal. These outputs support a voltage range from 4.5 Volts DC to 5.5 Volts DC with a maximum voltage ripple of 50 millivolts. This module can be employed with an SLC 500 to process digital signals. The module delivers an output current of 24 milliamperes per point. The 1746-OG16 draws a backplane current of 180 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC and zero (0) milliamperes at 24 Volts DC. The module needs an external power supply with a voltage of 5 Volts DC.

This digital module provides a power consumption of 33 milliwatts per point and total power consumption of 1.5 Watts. The 1746-OG16 provides a delay time of 0.25 milliseconds for the on state and 0.50 milliseconds for the off state on the outputs. This module has LED indicators to show the module and output points status and to help the troubleshooting process when issues occur. The 1746-OG16 employs the backplane optical isolation provided by optocouplers to offer electrical isolation of 1500 Volts AC between the control logic and output points.
