The Allen-Bradley 1746-IV16 is a Digital DC Input Module that has sixteen (16) input channels with sixteen points per common group. These inputs support a sourcing voltage range from 10 Volts DC to 30 Volts DC. This module can be employed with an SLC 500 to process digital signals. The module supports an input current of 8 milliamperes per point at a voltage of 24 Volts DC. The 1746-IV16 draws a backplane current of 85 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC. The device has an off-state current of 1 milliampere. The 1746-IV16 can be employed in general-purpose DC input applications by connecting up to eight (8) actuators or sensors in an SLC 500 system to store and save discrete data into a data image table.

This digital module provides a power consumption of 200 milliwatts per point and a total power consumption of 3.6 Watts. The 1746-IV16 provides a delay time of 8 milliseconds for the on state and 8 milliseconds for the off state on the inputs.
