The Allen-Bradley 1746-IO12 is a Digital I/O Combination Module that has six (6) input and six relay contact output channels with six points per common. These inputs support a voltage range from 85 to 132 Volts AC at a frequency range from 47 to 63 Hertz. The relay contact outputs operate with a voltage range from either 5 to 125 Volts DC or 5 to 265 Volts AC at a frequency range from 47 to 63 Hertz. This module can be employed with an SLC 500 to process digital signals. The module delivers an output current of 1.5 Amperes at 120 Volts AC and 1.2 Amperes at 24 Volts DC. The 1746-IO12 draws a backplane current of 90 milliamperes at 5 Volts DC and 70 milliamperes at 24 Volts DC.

This 1746-IO12 Digital Module provides a power of 270 milliwatts per input point and 133 milliwatts per output point. The 1746-IO12 provides a delay time of 35 milliseconds for the on state and 45 milliseconds for the off state on both the inputs and outputs. This module has LED indicators to show the module and I/O points status and to help the troubleshooting process when issues occur. The 1746-IO12 employs the backplane optical isolation offered by optocouplers to provide electrical isolation of 1500 Volts AC between the control logic and I/O points. This device is a single slot module that provides the NEMA standard for noise immunity. This digital device operates at a temperature range of zero (0) to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and weighs approximately 290 grams (0.64 pounds) while shipping.
