The MPL-B230P-EJ72AA is a low-inertia brushless servo motor with a voltage rating of 460 V and speed of 5000 rpm. The drive has flanged mounting and no shaft seal. It is equipped with single-turn high resolution encoder, keyed shaft and a SpeedTEC DIN connector. The servo motor is capable of providing continuous stall torque of 0.26 to 163 Nm (2.3 to 1440 lb.-in) and corresponding peak torque of 0.77 to 278 Nm (6.8 to 2460 lb.-in). The rotor inertia is 6.3 x 10.5 kg square meter and the power rating is 0.86 kW continuous. There is an option of integral 24V brake. Additionally, absolute multi-turn and single turn high resolution, incremental encoder and resolver feedback can be added as an optional upgrade. The feedback resolution is sine / cosine 128 cycles per revolution and feedback protocol is hiperface.

The overall design is low-profile and offers field-reversible motor connectors for flexibility in machine design. The DIN connector provides customization of connector location and uniformity of a single cable family with all MP-series motors. The MPL-B230P-EJ72AA servo motor drive has a relative humidity rating of 5 to 95% non-condensing and operating temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The storage or out-of-service status temperature range increases to -30 to 70 degrees Celsius. The storage requires to be corrosion-proof. A scheduled and frequent visual inspection of the motor is recommended and any signs of excessive wear, corrosion, or erosion should result in replacement of the part. The aluminum drive housing is shock resistant up to 20 g peak. Compatible drive series include the Kinetix 5500.
