The 2711P-T6C8D HMI terminal offers monitoring, controlling, and displaying of application status or information. This terminal offers a color LCD (liquid crystal display) with the embedded functionality of a touchscreen. It utilizes the technology of a thin-film transistor.  It has a native resolution of 320 (width) x 240 (height) in pixels. The touch screen display is analog resistive and consumes very little power. A lithium battery powers up the real-time clock ,and even static RAM, of the device. It is not utilized for backup or retention of applications. The lithium battery is non-replaceable and should only be removed after the device has reached the end of its useful life. The 2711P-T6C8D needs a nominal direct current (DC) type voltage of 24 volts and maximum energy of 25 watts. It has an acceptable voltage range of 18 VDC to 30 VDC. The terminal comes with a base configured unit with multiple ports and slots. One slot is for a DC power source, one port is for memory type of CompactFlash, one port is for Ethernet network protocols, one port (RS-232) is for serial interface, and one port is for USB interface. The 2711P-T6C8D has an x86 CPU, 64 MB synchronous dynamic RAM, and 64 MB of internal memory. 
This operator terminal also supports the option of an external communication module. The communication module is an add-on that connects to the base unit through the network interface. It aids in the addition of additional communication protocols to the terminal, such as ControlNet networks, DH+.
