The 2711P-K12C4A9 terminal is an Allen-Bradley interface terminal with a keypad. The keypad on the terminal consists of numeric, navigation, and function keys. As a 1250 terminal, the 2711P-K12C4A9’s keypad has 40 function keys, F1-F20 and K1-K20, that operators can use. Applications for keypad terminals are controlled by pressing the function keys that correspond to on screen objects. Operators can enter data manually by using the numeric entry keys. The keypad has an actuation lifespan of 1 million presses with an operating force of 340 g. When resetting the terminal, use a nonconducting object to press the reset button. Do not use a conducting object such as a paper clip, as it can damage the terminal. The reset button is designed for only 1.3 N (0.29 lb) operating force. Excessive force may damage the button or cause it to stick. The color display screen of the 2711P-K12C4A9 has a resolution of 800 x 600 with a luminance of 300 cd/m² (Nits)³. The display screen is lit with a CCFL backlight that has a 50,000 minimum life at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). The terminal comes with a battery-backed clock that is able to timestamp critical data with an accuracy of plus or minus 2 minutes per month. The battery has a 4-year minimum life at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit).
